Lil Wayne Delays "Dedication 4" Mixtape For 2 Chainz

Lil Wayne Lil Wayne and DJ Drama are back at it again with the Dedication 4 mixtape, the long awaited new installment to the Dedication collection.

Weezy was scheduled to drop Dedication 4 within the last couple of days, but stated that he would be delaying it for at least another week or two because of 2 Chainz’s Based On A T.R.U. Story. Wayne felt like dropping the mixtape would be bad timing and could potentially hurt 2 Chainz’s record sales.

"I know I was supposed to drop that Dedication 4 tonight but listen, my homeboy 2 Chainz just dropped his album yesterday [August 14], That's my real, real, real good homeboy right there and I refuse to put any attention on me when the spotlight, everybody's eyes, everybody's attention and everybody's focus should be on my nigga 2 Chain's album Based On A T.R.U. Story," said Wayne following his performance in New York City alongside Nicki Minaj.

Adding, "So therefore I ain't giving you bitches Dedication 4 yet. I'ma give it to ya'll in another week or so. But I ain't gonna lie, I ain't finished that motherfucker. I've been skating and shit, falling and shit and all that type of shit, but I'll give it to you like, next week. Stop trippin' pimp."

Despite his rapping career, Weezy has found a new love in skateboarding and he started his own skateboarding company Trukfit so he was able to take a break from rapping to regain that hunger we heard on his first Dedication mixtapes.

"I just felt like it was time. I got bored, Being me, I always feel like I ain't done nothing yet. So I'm always looking for the next thing 'to do'. Other than that, yeah, it does get pretty boring when it comes to just the rapping and all that type of stuff. I've done so much of it. I've been doing it since I was eight and I'm about to be thirty in September and I'm still rapping. I kind of feel like I'm getting old," Weezy told DJ Drama when asked about the motivation behind his upcoming mixtape.

One thing that’s certain is Wayne never lets his fans down with his Dedication mixtapes, which you can argue made his career and helped put Tunechi in the leading spot in rap.

The fact that he openly admits to no being finished with the mixtape could be a result of his skateboard life taking over. Saying openly on more than one occasion that he cherishes and loves the relationships he has made with his skateboard friends over his relationships in the world of rap.

Maybe 2 Chainz’s album release was just an excuse he gave to himself and his counterparts over at Young Money to buy him a little more time to cruise on his board and take in some new pleasures and pain. It seems like Tunechi has found something he prefers to do over rapping and the Dedication 4 could be just a look into his new life cruise and how retiring may not be as far fetched as his fans would like to think.
