There appears to be no end to Jay-Z’s list of accomplishments.
The rap mogul has now been named as the director of the Brooklyn Barclays Arena.
Jay will act as one of the directors for the Brooklyn Net’s new stadium, according to the New York Post.
The news was only revealed when Forest City Ratner Cos., the company behind the development of the stadium area, filed for an alcohol license, and named Shawn Carter, otherwise known as Jay-Z, as one of the Arena’s seven directors. Jay’s new role not only involves the attendance of numerous board meetings, it will also see him overseeing aspects of the upkeep and caretaking of the stadium.
The Barclays Arena have not specified the exact nature of Jay’s tasks as a member of the director’s board. However, Jigga has already played a significant role in the re-launching of the Brooklyn Nets, having designed the team’s new logo and jerseys, as well as furnishing the arena’s luxury section, comprised of 11 box seats, and nicknamed The Vaults.
Jay-Z owns a small percentage of the Brooklyn Nets, with Russian millionaire, Mikhail Prokhorov, owning 80%.
