During an interview with MTV News on Tuesday (July 27), Foxy Brown addressed her latest run-in with a neighbor and her arrest following an alleged altercation between the two.
According to Fox, she was not involved in a confrontation with Arlene Raymond, as it has being reported. She instead fell victim to a ploy of publicity.
“I was on my way to rehearsal with my band and I was leaving my mom’s house in Park Slope, Brooklyn, where I always go; that’s the home that I was born in,” explained the MC.
“And the police came and they saw the situation and there wasn’t any conflict or discord -- they were really baffled. But a supervisor came and saw the [potential for] publicity. If my name was Keisha Brown and not Foxy Brown, I would have been let go.”
Brown also refutes the claims in the police report that say she flashed her buttocks at Raymond.
“I’m just appalled by that statement alone,” said the femcee.
Brown’s ex-therapist came forward after the incident and said that the Ill Na Na rapper has “a lot of issues” and needs to seek help.
“She’s obviously got a lot of issues and needs ongoing help, and I hope she gets it,” said the unidentified therapist to the New York Daily News. “I think she’s got a lot of frustration and a lot of sadness, and she’s trying to grab power where she can.”
Foxy is now being represented by attorney Salvator E. Strazzullo after her former legal defense team dropped her earlier this week.
